Poseida

This work reinvents the idea of gods and the sea. The sculpture changes Poseidon into Poseida, the female re-articulation of the power and controller of the sea. This challenges the idea that male gods control all the physical things in the world, not unlike the power dynamics of our society. This conceptualizes that females have inherit right the physical and spiritual world.
