An exploration into affordable, sustainable homes to address the housing and rising climate crisis in California. The project consisted of a micro-housing unit (350 sf or less) that could serve as a detached unit on a shared property. The unit is net-positive in energy with use of solar panels, composting toilet, and passive design strategies. It was estimated under $28,000 material cost. Designed to fit the temperate climate of San Luis Obispo, CA.
